Yup, 40 cm of snow is forecast between now, Tuesday Oct 27, and Monday Nov 1 in Smithers. I believe that makes three out of the last six years that we have had a huge dump in the last week of October. Maybe some weathernuts out there can collaborate that? I know we had 80cm three years ago on Oct 27 because my niece was born three years ago on the 29th, and we didn’t know if they would make it to the hospital. It makes me have skiing on my brain, now is the time to reserve your ski hill lot for next year, all you need is 2% down.

New Quality Waters Working Group Recommendations
The long awaited ‘Recommendations of the Working Groups for the Skeena Quality Waters Strategy Angling Management Plans”, are now posted and downloadable.

The Ministry of Environment is expected to meet with the Working Groups and respond to the recommendations by mid-November 2009. If anyone has the time slog through the 50 pages and get to the meat of the matter, please send me your opinion.

Skiing is Coming!!
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving weekend! It was a beautiful and cold fall weekend here in Smithers. Lots of fisherman on the river and the air was crisp and perfect.
